 FAQ:

 Q: Where did my tracking button go?

A: Elkbuffbars wants to hide it by default, for some reason.  Open EBB's configuration by right-clicking the LDB plugin that looks like a stack of bars.  It's about 3/4 of the way down the list on EBB's settings.

 Q: I hate xparky. where's my Fubar_FuXPFu?

A: Xparky is the spiritual successor to Fubar_FuxpFu.  The big thing, is the old one was only anchored to the fubar frame. Xparky can anchor to any frame.  want your old look back?  Anchor it to either the top or bottom of your chocolatebar frame.  /xparky gets you to the control panel.

Q: where did my roll bar (need/greed buttons) go?

A: One of the dominos modules is a rollbar replacement, and it defaults to the far left side of the screen. Unlock your frames from dominos options in the interface menu, or type /dominos and unlock them there. For most people, their roll bar is either hidden under chat or their unitframes over to the left, or they inadvertently tagged the rollbar as a "hidden bar". middle mouse click to show it again, or use the visibility options menu.

Q:  Umm.  There's no data for gathermate?  I have to go re-find them all manually?

A:  Not at all!  Type /gathermate and then expand the "import data" menu.  Make sure "merge" is selected for type, then click what kind of nodes you want to import.  Lastly, click the giant red "import data" button.

Q:  Why's there 2 sets of coordinates on my world map, on top of each other, so I can't read either?

A:  You've got both TomTom and mapster's coordinates running at the same time.  Open the world map, hit the red "mapster" button in the top right corner, and disable coordinates from mapster

Q:  I tried setting up a gathering circuit in "Routes".  It's a giant star.  Doesn't look very optimal at all.

A:  After you make a route, you have to optimize it.  Find your route under the zone you made it for.  You're now looking at a screen that appears the only option is to delete the route.  Note the tabs across the top.  Go to the optimize one, then hit "cluster", and either the "Foreground" or "background" button to finish setting up the route.

Q:  What's the macro format to get Mini TrinketMenu to work?

A:  Use the below macro. for your 2nd trinket, replace 13 with 14.

Q:  How do I configure xxxxx?

For the vast majority of all addons, the options can be accessed one of two ways. 
1.  Hit <esc>, and go to interface, choose "addons"
2.  Hover over the addon on your chocolate bar

Don't forget to assign a keybinding to Examiner! it's much superior to the standard blizzard inspect.

Zbroker_clock An LDB clock.

Other recommended addons.

These are addons I used to include but don't now because they are fairly specialized, and in some cases, carry a performance or resource premium, or because some folks may not want the function they perform.

NpcScan Overlay Shows you on the map where all rares patrol paths are
Auctionlite An awesome AH scanning, buying, and posting mod.  Can use a lot of memory.
Decursive Curse/poison/etc mod to make cleansing easier
DrDamage Shows your average damage on the action buttons for each skill
Everyquest Use with loremaster to get the status of every quest in zone, as to whether you've done it or not yet, and whether it counts toward loremaster
Loremaster See above for everyquest.
HalionHelper Just helps on phase 3 of halion to balance dps in each world
Hush Turns off general and localdefense inside instances
KillingBlows Plays the old unreal tournament sounds (killing spree! Unstoppable!, etc) when you get killing blows in pvp, depending on how many in a row you get.
Lightheaded Wowhead as an addon. attaches to your quest frame, and also has clickable coordinates for tomtom.  Obviously uses much memory.
Misspelled A spellchecking dictionary for WoW.  Obviously uses much memory.
Optitaunt Auto-announce to raid/say/party when your taunts are resisted.  You can also use it to auto-announce tank survival abilities like shield wall or last stand. 
Tourguide A leveling guide as an addon.  Integrates with tomtom to give you an arrow to where you need to go next.  Combined with lightheaded and tomtom, makes an incredibly powerful leveling suite.  The github page is a bit confusing. Look for the "Download source" button in the upper right corner.

Changes

10/24/2010  No replacement for overachiever yet.  Shadowed unit frames up to date.  Elk buff bars (which served me well forever) has been replaced by Raven.  Gathermate2 for gathermate,  Squire2 for Squire.
8/14/2010  Pretty much everything has changed since last time I updated the log.  Biggest thing is probably the move from Xperl to Shadowed unit frames, the addition of GTFO, and the re-doing of just about every addon that affects questing.
9/23/09  Switched from Ora2 to Ora3.  Moved from Violation/Omen to Skada, which does both threat and damage, among other things.   Updated 3.2 compliant versions of all addons, including Fisherman's friend to address 3.2.2 issue.  DBM updated for Totc and Onyxia.  Removed azcastbar and replaced with Castbars.  Be sure to enable "use original castbar" in the xperl player option tab, about 1/3 of the way down.  Removed doublewide (function now comes with default UI),  Added Doublewide professions.  Using Arnaths's  Inquest.  Re-added Tipachu, which somehow got deleted along the way.  Added IronChef and JoustDoIt  (TG warriors rejoice!).   Swapped out Ludwig for ElkItemDB.
8/7/09 3.2 compliant.  Most things updated.  Dead things removed or replaced.  Several addons are repaired in-house and will be properly fixed when the author fixes them.

6/5/09 Removed Wow_pro tourguide (new tourguide has 70-80 guides). Moved from forumname to forumname 2*. Added Equipmanager_update (gives an "update set" button in the blizz eqpt. manager). Updated DBM, MSBT, tourguide, decursive, DRdamage, and bankitems. Added code to sexymap to allow moving the vehicle seat indicator.
5/1/09 Patch 3.1.2 versions of everything.  Added Inquest, badboy_ccleaner, betterblizzoptions, broker_equipswitch,  Equipmentmanager_Swapspecs,  Casualty, Friendlyarrow.  Removed scorchio (EBB and MSBT can do the same stuff) reflux, closetgnome and swapmagic.  This is an old version of ForumName that still allows custom tags.
4/24/09 Removed Dockingstation and replaced with Chocolate bar, which is much, much easier to set up.  Added broker_talentswitch.  Updated versions of DBM for Ulduar, Dominos, Ora2, Inline Aura, BadBoy, Xperl, Volumizer, Gathermate_data (adds fishing nodes), Fisherman's friend, TomTom, MSBT, AzCastbar. GoGoMount, Examiner, and Auctionlite.
4/15/09  Moved from SimpleMiniMap to SexyMap.   Removed "talented".  Updated for 3.1,  Cheated and changed TOC numbers on other addons to cut down on having to tell people to load out of date addons.  Not tested in raid yet.
4/11/2009  Many many changes.  Memory usage is about halved,  the UI now uses LDB feeds vice Fubar.  The general look and feel is retained.  Some fluff addons removed, such as instancemaps.  Go wowhead it instead.  Mostly ready for 3.10. Tried to dump as many Rock addons as possible in an attempt to futureproof.  Expect minor tweaks on patch day.
2/13/2009 Updated just about everything.  Added HideLooted, which hides other people's looting of badges and marks.
1/11/09 Updated Auctionlight, Omen, MSBT, Inflight, Actionbar Saver, Aloft, Control Freak, Sellfish, and Xperl.  Added "align", a simple addon to help you line up your UI.  Added ImprovedAchievements and DamnAchievements to help bring order to the madness that is the basic achievement frame.
12/23/08 TomTom now has corpse waypoints.  Added ToolTipItemInfo for ilevels,  updated Dominos, Examiner, Inflight, Deadly boss mods, Elkbuffbars, Talented, Gathermate, and BadBoy.
12/15/08 Updates for all instance maps!  Updated Lightheaded, TomTom, Examiner, Gatherer, Violation.  Added "Zoom", which attempts to cut down initial load times due to misbehaving addons.
12/08/08 Auctioneer is gone.  Auctionlite is added in it's place.   Updated Xperl now includes threat options.  Updated Badboy spamfilter.  Updated Aloft to fix the name-plate swapping problem. Updates to gathermate, mapster, and handynotes.
12/3/08 Greatly fleshed out lightheaded for northrend.   New gathermate data again,  flight paths in for both horde and alliance.  Sellfish now has sell values for most quest items.  DBM now has more 5-man instance warnings.  New DrDamage and Talented for lvl 80.
11/21/08 Fix for handynotes problems.  All horde flight nodes added.  New Dominos, new DBM, updated northrend gathermate data,  Ratings fix for lvl 71+
11/12/08 Dumped "kennel" because Tekkub won't add "world pvp features" (make the pet hide when stealthed), which leads to my poor druid getting ganked while I go eat dinner.  Replaced with GoGoPet, which needs a macro to work.  Updated all other addons, including a death knight fix for talented.   Added DrDamage back in, as we're all going to be trying to figure out what gear is best again soon.
11/6/08 TinyTip is back! Don't use /ttip anymore, use the blizzard interface > addons menu to configure it.
11/5/08 New Xperl, Dominos, Examiner, Lightheaded, and Gathermate versions.  Reverted to earlier version of closetgnome and removed closetgnome_mount.  Added Kennel and GoGoMount.  Fixed a few more errors that still managed to sneak through last package, like the amazingly annoying optitaunt error. Now error free for reals.  Memory usage back down.  26.2mb at login, with 1.5mb of that being my gathermate database.
 10/28/08  Many updates, including several to Xperl and Dominos.  Mobhealth removed (apparently it's redundant now).  Fubar_bankitems removed (use the macro "/bi allbank" instead).  Re-added moneyfu.  Everything's pretty much working right, except Cartographer_mount doesn't switch you back when you dismount. Talented now has proper data for the new talent trees. Instancemaps now actually works.  Be sure to check out the new AOE threat features of Aloft.
10/15/08  Yeah...all kinds of stuff for 3.0.  I may fill this in later.  Probably not.
8/2/08 Updated Dominos.  Removed cartographer and all it's modules.  Replaced with Mapster, Instanceloot, Handynotes, and Routes, saving about 2mb further in memory load.  New version of MSBT.  Removed Instanthealth, replacing it with the Ace library LibQuickHealth.  Xperl updated to a version that uses the aforementioned library.
7/23/2008 Replaced Bongos3 with Dominos (same author, but he's not supporting bongos anymore.  Upgrade now or upgrade when it breaks on patch day!).  Replace cartographer herb/mining node tracking modules with Gathermate.  Re-added "talented".  Updated MSBT, Ratingbuster, Omen, Removed Trinketmenu (now that trinkets aren't swappable in combat, it's just as easy to make a 2-button bar with Dominos and keybind them, while have trinket outfit sets in closetgnome).  Added Instanthealth.  Added TomTom, Lightheaded, and Tourguide as a seperately downloaded "leveling mods" module.

6/4/2008 Updated MSBT, Updated bigbankstatement, all ace addons updated.  Added KillingBlows, which just plays the old UT sounds from NECB in PVP only.  Delete it if it bugs you.
5/22/08.  Just incremental updates of all addons.  Change your "/bbs toggle" macro to simply "/bbs"
4/27/08 Gamma 1.1 of Bongos 3.  Replaced FishingAce with Fisherman's Friend.  Added Mobspells.  Added BadBoy, an anti-spam mod.  Updated all ace addons from the svn.  Deleted combathidetooltip (bongos now has that option natively.
4/10/08 - Reinstalled Inflight, removed Talented, removed quartz_flight.  Bongos3.9 update, updated all ace mods.
4/06/08 - New MSBT with triggers re-enabled. Xperl is now on the WoWace SVN. Minor update to Xperl. Proximo now includes enemy spellcasts (beta). Strangely, a new Omen was released too.
4/05/08 - Oops. forgot to include bongos_options. Pretty hard to set it up without an options panel. Oh, and new Omen, of course.
4/03/08 - New Omen. Removed LightQue. Added SwapMagic (ace2 companion to closetgnome that gives quick access slots from paper doll when you hold down alt). New Cartographer with Magister's terrace loot tables.3/30/08 - Update to Proximo to restore some pre-patch functionality,  Bongos3 beta-6, deadly boss mods update, library updates across the board.
3/28/08 - Xperl: fixed talent spec showing, dropped (broken) tankbuddy for optitaunt. Lots of incremental library updates. There appears to be some form of incompatibility with Omen from the first day of the patch to those versions that came out on Thursday or later, based on informal observations in ZA last night. If you last updated on Tue or Wed, you will want to re-download.
3/25/08 - First 2.4 version. Note that bongos3 requires a complete re-do of your bars.
